About Me
A CREATIVE ENTREPRENEUR
CHANGING THE WORLD
THROUGH MUSIC
My name is Cory Lawrence. I’m a composer, producer, multi-instrumentalist but most importantly a creative entrepreneur. My aim is to use creative skills whether it’s music, video editing, or coding to have an impact on the world. My goal is to change the world through music.
My journey so far has been fused with music. I studied law at the University of Cambridge, but there I began expressing myself musically by starting my own YouTube channel, Everything Fantasy dedicated to video game music.
After graduating, I secured a place to study the Advanced Diploma in Music Production and Sound Engineering at The Abbey Road Institute. While initially unable to afford the course, I was able to successfully run a fundraising campaign, raising over £20K. In 2023, I graduated from the course with a distinction. A highlight on the course was performing keys at Abbey Road Studio Two for a song written by Jessi Mac and produced by legendary producer Haydn Bendall.
After finishing the course, I became a Technician at The Abbey Road Institute, which involved being a runner for commercial recording sessions.
As a composer, I specialise in composing video game music in a variety of styles such as orchestral and jazz. Video game music and particularly Japanese composers such as Nobuo Uematsu and Yukihiro Jindo inspired me to get into composing for games. Highlights of my video game work include composing the announcement trailer for the highly regarded community video game, Project: Eden’s Garden. The trailer received millions of views on YouTube.
As a creator, my channel Everything Fantasy has millions of views. The channel is dedicated to video game compositions, arrangements and educational content targeting video game lovers who share a deep connection with the music from the games they enjoy. I have also developed a growing Discord community filled with creatives and music enthusiasts.
As a producer and engineer, one of my highlights was inviting over a dozen artists from the London music community to feature on an original piece of music inspired by Wader in the Water.
I am also an avid public speaker and deeply rooted in helping the local community. I have provided speeches at school’s and organisations aiming to inspire young people and I am currently a Governor of Whitmore High School. In January and March 2023, I ran sessions for the Art’s Council funded project Unsigned and Gifted.
My future ambitions are to open up more platforms for people to achieve their creative dreams and establish a studio one day to provide creative spaces for those without access. Music is a powerful medium to connect people. Through this universal language, I aim to change the world through music.
